Black Heritage Martin Luther King Parade Led by the Sells' Ladies

Although the weather was cold and the sky was cloudy, The Black Heritage Martin Luther King Jr. Parade was a huge success. There were over 200 entries. The parade began promptly today at 10:oo am. Derek King, the nephew of Martin Luther King, Jr. served as Grand Marshall. LaTricia, Moriah, Charity and Laurryn Sells; Mike Sanchez and Malik Sanchez led with parade by caring the torch.

Among the many participants that I saw were: Mayor Bill White, who walked the entire distance of the parade. He chose not to ride in a car; Constable May Walker; Quanell X, Judge Hillary Green, Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts; Jack Yates Marching Band; Booker T Washington Band and University of Houston Band were among the many partipants.
