Assistant Director, Media Relations (Houston Astros Baseball Club)
The Houston Astros are looking for a hard-working and team-oriented individual with strong communications skills to serve as the ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF MEDIA RELATIONS. This position will assist with all aspects of the media relations department, with heavy emphasis on baseball-related information and daily game notes. This individual will be responsible for pre-game, on-field PR for media interview coordination and player requests, and will also assist with community events and with securing player cooperation for community and sponsorship- related appearances.

This person will also be one of the primary writers of the office, particularly with baseball-related news releases. The person who serves in this role will be involved with travel to both Spring Training and on selected regular season road trips, and will need to develop and maintain strong relationships with players, media, and baseball operations personnel.A minimum of 4 years of experience in professional sports or sports information is required. At least 3-5 years of experience in Major League Baseball is preferred, particularly in a full-time capacity. Prior travel experience with a Major League club is also a plus, as well as a degree in a communications-related field. Salary is commensurate upon experience and qualifications.
